Flood to hit Victory Monument any day

Floodwaters seeping down Phahonyothin Road could reach Victory Monument possibly as soon as today. Victory Monument would be the most famous and significant landmark to be flooded so far in Thailand.

Currently waters are approaching Saphan Kwai intersection and are about 500 meters away, the Bangkok Post reported. Floodwaters at the Kampaengphet intersection near Chatuchak Market are around 30-40 centimeters deep and small cars aren’t able to pass.

Traffic police at Bang Sue police station said the waters are expected to reach Saphan Kwai intersection around noon today. Lat Phrao intersection was hit by the floodwaters this weekend.
