The flood threat to Bang Chan Industrial Estate in eastern Bangkok has eased with the closing of sluice gates at canals 8.9 and 10 in Pathum Thani yesterday Nov. 3, the Nation reported.
Locals had been calling for the sluice gate at Canal 9 to be opened, but Bangkok governor Sukhumbhand said all gates must be closed to protect the 677-rai industrial estate that houses 93 factories. Some of the brands with factories in the estate include Farmhourse and Hanami.
The estate had though to be at a high risk of flooding before the sluice gates were closed, according to MCOT.
