Despite efforts from all sides to engage his services, flood expert Seree Supratid has refrained from joining any of Bangkok’s ongoing gubernatorial campaigns.
Seree, the director of the National Disaster Research Centre at Rangsit University, gained his renown during the 2011 floods, when he offered commentary on the proceedings that seemed to rise above the political scrum.
In conversation with the Bangkok Post, Seree reiterated his commitment to this apolitical position.
“I have not yet decided to accept any offers,” he said. “Actually, I can work with anyone who shares my ideas for improving the capital, especially in terms of the environment.”
