Bangkok Governor Sukhumbhand Paribatra has declared a flood alert in Sai Mai, Klongsamwa, Bang Khen, Nong Chok, Min Buri, Lat Krabang, and Kannayao.
Governor MR Sukhumbhand told residents in those areas to move their belongings to higher ground and said that he will update the situation every three hours, according to MCOT.
The warning comes as increased flow in the Rangsit Canal has officials worried that dykes will not be able to hold back the floodwaters.
Future Park mall in Rangsit, just outside Bangkok, has been closed due to flooding, according to a tweet from the MCOT.
