Police are investigating a gruesome discovery found near Rangsit Canal in Pathum Thani – five crushed human skulls in a fertilizer bag.
The skulls were reported to the police by an undertaker from a local temple in Pathum Thani’s Thanyaburi District, who said he was told about them by someone who found them while fishing. The foreheads, occipital bones, and temples were broken on the skulls, TANN reported.
Other crushed bones were found in the bag as well. Forensic teams are currently gathering evidence on the case.
Investigators said the the holes did not come from bullets, but were probably drilled.
Police believe that the skulls were used for some type of superstitious ritual and may have been dug from an old grave – they said that the bag was probably put there on purpose.
Police Major General Kamronwit Thoopkrajang, acting commissioner of Region 1 Police Bureau, said that investigators had not yet determined how long the skulls had been there or whether the skulls were from men or women.
Photos of the skulls are at TANN’s website here.
