Fire ravages Royal Turf Club

Yesterday, fires caused widespread damage to two, Bangkok-area landmarks.

In two separate incidents, blazes ravaged both a shopping center in Pathum Thani and the Royal Turf Club in Dusit.

The Pathum Thani blaze struck the Zeer Rangsit shopping mall near 3AM, reports the Bangkok Post.

No one was injured in the fire, though it did cause widespread damage to the mall’s first floor, which housed mobile phone shops, a market and a commercial bank.

At the Royal Turf Club, a mid-afternoon conflagration destroyed 10 wooden houses that had traditionally been used to accomodate laborers. Twenty horses were evacuated from the grounds, though no one, human or equine, was injured before firefighters got the blaze under control.
