A female motorcycle taxi driver in Bangkok’s Don Mueang district fought off a rapist yesterday by kicking him in the groin and fleeing.
The 37-year-old victim told police that she was hired to drive a man to Burapha 25 housing estate, but that halfway through the journey the customer pulled out her ignition keys and tried to sexually assault her. The suspect pulled off her clothes and hit her several times, she said.
She at first pleaded for mercy, but decided to try force when he didn’t stop.
When the right moment arose, she kicked him as hard as she could in the groin and ran away screaming for help.
The suspect drove away on her motorcycle which was later found abandoned a few kilometers away.
Police found the victim dressed in only her underwear and with bruises on her face and body, the Bangkok Post reported.
They said they had still photos of the attacker from a CCTV camera and that they would arrest him.
