Eleven Bangkok districts are evacuation zones

Bangkok governor Sukhumbhand Paribatra has named 11 districts of the capital evacuation zones – Don Mueang, Lak Si, Bang Khen, Bang Plad, Talingchan, Tawee Wattana, Bang Khae, Phasi Chareon, Nong Khaem and Chatuchak.

Sections of five other districts – Nong Chok, Klong Samwa, Lat Phrao, Bangkok Yai, and Minburi – have been declared evacuation zones as well, TANN reported.

Sukhumbhand said that if the barrier created with extra-large sandbags by the Flood Relief Operations Center can slow down the northern runoff then flooded roads could be drained in two weeks.
