We are currently in the period following a contested gubernatorial election, which means that it’s the Election Commission’s time to shine.
Milking that spotlight for all it’s worth, the EC has announced that next Wednesday it will serve up “front-page headline news” to the awaiting public, regarding MR Sukhumbhand Paribatra’s win in the gubernatorial race.
No word yet on what that news is (why ruin the suspense?) but observes have speculated that it will involve charges of fraud that have been leveled against the governor-elect’s campaign.
According to MCOT, two principle complaints about the Sukhumbhand campaign have been handed over to the EC – one involving statements issued by Democrat MP Sirichoke Sopa, the other involving statements from Seree Wongmontha.
For results of inquiries into those allegations, stay tuned.
