BTS Skytrain passengers over 60-years-old will get a 50 percent discount on rides beginning July 1 until June 30 2013.
BTS chief operating officer Surapong Lao-ha Unya said last week that they wanted more elderly people to use the Skytrain for safety and convenience, the Bangkok Post reported. A special Rabbit Card will be issued for Thai national seniors
There’s just one catch: The discounted fares will only apply during NON-rush hours so on Monday through Friday from 6am-9am and 4pm to 8pm seniors will have to pay full price.
