A drug-crazed bus driver with a full load of passengers led police on a 50-kilometer chase before being apprehended in Nakhon Si Thammarat on Saturday.
The Bangkok-Trang bus blew through a roadblock on Asia Road 41 in the southern city’s Tham Phannara district and police gave chase.
The bus driver, Somkid Longkao, tried to prevent police cars from getting in front of the bus and nearly caused several accidents, the Bangkok Post reported.
He then stopped the bus abruptly and tried to escape into a crowd of people, but was caught by police.
Police said that Somkid tested positive for drugs in his urine.
