The Culture Ministry lodged a proposal today with the Cabinet, requesting that members of that latter body wear Thai-made fabrics in order to conserve energy.
In a statement to the Nation, Culture Minister Sonthaya Kunplome said that by wearing garments made in Thailand, ministers would not only conserve energy that would otherwise be used to transport the garments, but that they would also promote the Thai textile industry.
Though the energy savings from this plan will likely be slim, to be honest, Thailand could use all the energy it can get right now.
