Yesterday, police associated with the Public Health Ministry and consumer protection department raided two of Siam Center’s better-known beauty clinics.
Though both Nitipon Clinic and Wuttisak Clinic were raided following consumer complaints, the clinics’ offenses appear to be unrelated.
The operator of Nitipon Clinic was fined THB30,000 for dispensing drugs without a license, whereas the operator of Wuttisak Clinic was fined THB20,000 for posting exaggerated advertisements.
The Bangkok Post reports that in statements concerning the raid, police mentioned Thailand’s impending accession to the AEC as a justification for the current crackdown.
