Operatives of the Metropolitan Police and the Office of the Narcotics Control Board raided the house of a known drug trafficker on Friday and seized close to THB20 million worth of assets.
The joint operations on the house of Somporn Sriwattanakulsuk, known in drug rings as Jae Porn, took place at the Thawi Wattana district of Bangkok.
The suspect and his family had already reportedly fled to another country.
According to police officials, Jae Porn is the leader of a big time drug syndicate. He is reportedly responsible for ordering the killing of Adisorn Srisuk a well as members of his gang, who were said to have double crossed Jae Porn in a drug deal.
Police officials said that though that although they were able to recover about THB20 milloin worth of assets, the suspect had already cleared out most of the valuables in the house. They were able to seize a car and some certificates of gold purchases.
According to Bangkok Post, the raid was a result of information given by Adisorn and Siriporn Thapchan, the suspect’s daughter-in-law.
