Cops arrest two men for selling homemade guns on Facebook

Earlier this week, Bangkok police arrested two men – 32-year-old Withaya Chai-Auari and 25-year-old Suriya Khoksombat – for marketing homemade guns through Facebook.

The cops made the bust via an undercover operation in which they contacted Withaya asking to buy part of his homemade arsenal. When he showed up on Phahon Yothin 55 to make the sale, the police took him into custody.

They later searched Withaya’s apartment and discovered a treasure trove of homemade firearms, including a pen gun, several grenades and a “Thai Pradit” gun. Withaya also had a variety fo pistols and upwards of 100 rounds of ammunition.

The Bangkok Post reports that the guns were constructed by Suriya, then marketed by Withaya through Facebook.

College and vocational students formed the bulk of the pair’s client base.
