Co-defendant with Chalerm’s son in famous 2001 murder case is appointed head of PWO

An associate of Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yabamrung’s son has been appointed to the position of director of the Public Warehouse Organization.

Pol Maj Sarawut Sakulmeerit’s appointment was approved by the cabinet yesterday, the Bangkok Post reported.

Sarawut was a defendant in the famous case where Chalerm’s son Duang Yubamrung was charged with murdering Crime Suppression Division detective Snr Sgt Maj Suwichai Rodwimut at the Twenty Club on Ratchada Road in Bangkok in 2001. Sarawut was charged with obstruction of justice but eventually acquitted along with Chalerm’s son by the criminal court
