Flamboyant massage parlor magnate-cum-member of parliament Chuwit Kamolvisit yesterday called on prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra to check whether her relatives were involved in an illegal Bangkok gambling den.
The Rak Thailand Party (Love Thailand Party) leader alleged that the Je Pheo gambling den – which has been operating for more than 20 years – has been operated by a relative of “an important person based in Dubai,” The Nation reported.
PM Yingluck’s brother, the exiled former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, is based in Dubai.
Mr. Chuwit has also asked the Bangkok police chief Maj. Gen. Khamronwit Thoopkrajang to locate the den, adding that he would not be surprised if Maj. Gen. Khamronwit or local police said they hadn’t found it.
“Gambling dens are a major source of income of policemen. Everyone knows it,” Mr. Chuwit said.
