Vorasit “Plawan” Issara, owner of Phuket’s Sripanwa luxury resort, is recovering in the hospital after being stabbed twice in the stomach in a 4AM brawl outside a Phuket nightclub yesterday Jan. 4, according to reports.
Vorasit is the scion of Bangkok’s prominent Issara family, which runs the giant property development company Charn Issara.
He was reportedly stabbed outside Ratchada nightclub in the Poonplol area of Phuket Town, which is well know for its seedy latenight venues. He is listed in stable condition.
According to a tweet from TAN Network, a waiter at the nightclub has turned himself into the police and claimed that the stabbing was in self defense.
Phuket Wan reported that Suchart Pahala, 26, has turned himself into the police as a suspect.
