The BTS Skytrain extension of the Silom line from Wonwian Yai to Bang Wa in western Bangkok will begin service by Dec. 5 2012, Deputy Bangkok governor Theerachon Manomaipibul said recently.
He also announced that on May 1 the fare for riding the recently opened extension from On Nut to Bearing will be THB15, the Nation reported.
The route has been free since it opened on August 12. The Bangkok Metropolitan Authority (BMA) had planned on starting charging for the route on Jan. 1, but decided to extend the exemption to help people cope with flooding.
Theerachon said that the BMA and Krungthep Thanakom company decided that THB15 was the right fare for the route.
