The President of the United States Barack Obama has been invited to visit Thailand as part of a planned trip to the East Asia Summit in Cambodia in late 2012, according to the government public relations department.
The East Asia Summit is reportedly scheduled for November, but we can find no official date.
Won’t Barack have his hands tied with a little thing called the presidential election during that time? Weird.
Mr. Thani Thongphakdi, director-general of the Department of Information and spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, also said that the U.S. has invited the Prime Minister of Thailand to visit.
Dates of both potential visits are under discussion, he said.
