A Bangkok policeman was run over and killed in a drug sting gone awry in the Sutthisan area on Jan. 11.
An undercover police officer was trying to buy narcotics from two suspects – 25 year-old Alongkorn Rermprachatipatai and his girlfriend, 23 year-old Preeyanuch Puthikorn – but they were alerted to the fact that he was police and fled in their car, TANN reported.
The driver of the car ran over the officer and dragged him nearly 50 meters, killing him at the scene.
Alongkorn and Preeyanuch were eventually stopped and arrested and police found 200 ya ba pills and four grams of crystal meth.
The couple has been charged with murder and possession of drugs with intent to distribute.
Photos of the crime scene are on TANN‘s website.
