Bangkok police officers have joined forces with investigators from Phuket in an effort to track down the men who assassinated Jintana Mahattanapak, the human resources manager for the Hilton Phuket Arcadia Resort and Spa in Karon.
Jintana was killed on Jan. 18 in what appeared to be a premeditated murder. The hit took place as Jintana was driving home in her car. Witnesses report that she received a cell phone call from two men who approached her on a motorbike. One of these men then shot her with a homemade pistol.
Investigating officers say that the killers likely called Jintana in order to pinpoint her position behind her car’s deeply tinted windows.
Their Phuket-based compatriots have enlisted police in Bangkok to help sweep the country in search of several contract killers who investigators think could have a connection to the murder.
Phuket Wan reports that conflicts resulting from Jintana’s role as human resources manager have formed the primary grist of the investigation.
