Bangkok city officials get pay raise

Bangkok City Hall executives, political office holders and councilors are set to receive up to 20 percent in pay raises, the Bangkok Post reported.

A draft royal decree has already been approved to raise the pay of the Bangkok governor, deputy governor, committee members appointed by the governor, and city and district councilors by 20 percent. Raises for the government’s legal arm are to be considered by the cabinet tomorrow.

The governor’s salary will be increased from THB62,830 per month to THB68,620 plus a monthly allowance of THB41,500. Deputy governors will see their pay rise to THB 66,250 along with a monthly allowance of THB20,750.
