Apple iPad 3 hitting shelves in Thailand on April 27

The hi-sos of Bangkok will soon have another expensive gadget to show off in public, as the third-generation Apple iPad is hitting shelves in Thailand on April 27.

Thailand will be getting the revolutionary tablet on the same day as India, Israel, Colombia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Montenegro, and South Africa but a week later than South Korea, Brunei, Croatia, Cyprus, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Malaysia, Panama, St Maarten, Uruguay and Venezuela, according to Forbes.

New features of the iPad 3 include a super HD retina display screen, a 5-megapixel camera, and 4G wireless capability. That last feature doesn’t mean much for us though, as Thailand hasn’t even sorted out solid 3G networks yet.

We’ve actually gotten our hands on the new iPad from a friend of Coconuts who brought one from the US, and are happy to report that the retina display is indeed quite crisp!
