One of the world’s most popular computer games, Angry Birds, finally has an app on Facebook. The local launch earlier this week in Bangkok was a collaboration between Pacific Licensing Studio and MCN Asia (Thailand).
The insanely popular computer game has more than 600 million gamers playing on smart phones and other mobile devices around the world. With the launch of the Facebook app, the Finnish game maker Rovio hopes to have a billion users playing the game in the next couple of months.
The 13.7 million Facebook users in Thailand are being targeted as potential Angry Bird devotees. To play the app for free all users have to do is log on to Facebook AngryBirds.com and a world of special features including social components and Facebook exclusive levels become available according to The Nation.
The three versions of Angry Birds – Classic, Season, and Rio – have more than 18 million downloads across the Android, iOS, Blackberry and Symbian platforms in Thailand alone.
MCN Asia (Thailand) is the official digital marketing agency of Rovio in Southeast Asia and Japan. The company has grand plans for Angry Birds in Thailand including a deal with a local mobile operator to launch a major Angry Birds project. Later this year fans of the game are given the chance to compete in the Angry Birds Facebook Thailand Challenge at Commart Thailand 2012.
