Algerian hacker was responsible for infamous ZeuS virus

Remember earlier this week when Thai police arrested one of the hackers on the US’s most-wanted list in Suvarnnabhumi Airport? Online security blogger Brian Krebs has stepped up to provide some much-needed background info about the infamous cybercriminal.

Apparently the hacker in question—named Hamza Bendelladj and known by the sobriquet “bx1”—ran an infamous banking Trojan named ZeuS, which allowed him to pilfer millions from bank accounts around the world.

Krebs claims to have IM’ed with Bendelladj almost a year ago and has provided a transcription of that conversation, as well as some more info about Bendelladj’s nefarious doings, on his blog—”Krebs on Security.”
