Thunderstorms and heavy rain flooded many parts of Bangkok up to 80cm deep this afternoon.
The flooding caused what is now becoming a regular rush hour fact: nightmarish traffic.
Police said that flood levels in Bangkok’s Sutthisan, Din Daeng, Don Mueang, Pracharat Bamphen and Phaya Thai areas were up to 80cm, the Bangkok Post reported. Several Sukhumvit sois were flooded as well, including 23, 30 and 39.
The BMA tweeted an apology for the flooding, saying that “all workers are doing their best to alleviate the problem for the people of Bangkok.”
