ABAC poll shows Pongsapat with a solid lead

According to a poll conducted by Assumption University, Pheu Thai gubernatorial candidate Pongsapat Pongcharoen is leading his competitor, Democrat Sukhumbhand Paribatra, in the race for Bangkok’s governorship.

The poll surveyed 1,766 respondents this Tuesday. Of those surveyed, 41.8% voiced their support for Pongsapat, whereas 32.1% backed Sukhumbhand. Former national police chief Seripisut Temiyaves made the rankings as well with a 14.3% share of those surveyed.

MCOT reports that the results of this latest poll strongly contrast the results of an earlier poll conducted by the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA). The NIDA poll showed Sukhumbhand with a slight lead over Ponsapat, and indicated that a great majority of voters remained undecided.
