Yesterday, police set 151 Kratom trees on fire as part of the Metropolitan Police’s fight against drugs.
The destructive blaze took place at a parking space on Ramkhamhaeng Road in the Min Buri district. The entire pile of trees weighted one ton and were worth around THB100,000. Dailynews wrote that they were planted along paddy fields for household use, not for sale.
Kratom leaf is the main ingredient in the popular cheap narcotic drink 4×100. The consumption of Kratom is illegal in Thailand.
