The new US ambassador to Thailand arrived yesterday to replace Kristie Kenney who left her position in November 2014.
The arrival of Glyn Davies, who was former special US representative for North Korea policy, was announced on the US embassy Bangkok Facebook page.
“The U.S. Embassy in Bangkok is pleased to announce the arrival of Honorable Glyn Townsend Davies as the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Kingdom of Thailand,” said the statement.
Upon his arrival yesterday, he said he was looking forward to experiencing what Thailand has to offer.
“I look forward to getting to know, listening to, and learning from people throughout the kingdom. Through them, I hope to understand Thailand’s rich traditions and culture. My goal is to deepen understanding between our people and to work together to enhance our mutual security and prosperity,” he said.
