The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission has announced a new rating system for non-paid TV channels. All free channels will be required to label their programs into six standardized categories.
There has been a labeling system in place, however it has caused considerable scrutiny for its obvious lack of standardization.
To better understand the rating system check out the list of categories below:
Primary is content suitable for children ages six and below
Children is content suitable for children between six and twelve years old
General is content suitable for general audiences
PG 13 is content suitable for people 13 and older, but this content can be watched by children if they are under parental guidance. Content can air between 8:30pm-5:00am.
PG 18 is content suitable for people above 18 years old; those below 18 are required to have parental guidance in order to watch. These programs can air 10:00pm-5:00am.
Exclusive is content suitable for mature audiences after midnight, Khaosod reported.
