“Some slight dents, but it has a lot of character.”
A new law, set to go into effect on September 9, will require Thai used car dealers to list the histories of the vehicles they are selling.
According to the law, dealers will have to provide for potential buyers information relating to a car’s accident record, legal status and history.
Used car dealers who fail to comply with this law risk a six month jail term and/or a THB50,000 fine.
The Bangkok Post reports that if the dealer in question is also a car manufacture, he or she would then risk a fine of up to THB100,000.
