The Bank of Thailand revealed a new design for the THB500 bill and its features today.
Besides changes such as security features such as colored threads, watermarks, foil strips and more holograms to make the bill more difficult to counterfeit, a braille letter “F” is added at the bottom right of the new bill to accommodate the visually impaired. Hopefully the visually impaired will understand how “F” means 500 and not 50 or five.
All in all, it’s still purple and the same size.
According to Managing Vice-President Tongurai Limpiti, the new bill will be officially released to the public Monday. A first lot of 100 million copies have already been printed.
