Nepali national nabbed for running unauthorized employment agency

Tourist police have apprehended a Nepali national for running an unauthorized employment agency in Thailand.

Police arrested the man known as Bibek Bantawan (real name Kishor Rai) after several complaints surfaced regarding his activities.

Bantawan was arrested in his office at the Yanawa District. He will be charged with human trafficking. Also confiscated from his office were 15 passbooks and 23 ATM cards. Police report that the employment agency has cheated large sums of money from their customers and clients by promising employment in countries like Canada, Macao and the U.S.

The local authorities are still on the lookout for six of Bantawan’s accomplices, who helped him perpetrate the scheme.
