NBTC to consider terms for state channels

Offices of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission

The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) will consider specifying terms for the analog broadcasting free-to-air TV operations for the four, government-controlled broadcast agencies.

According to an NBTC source, the broadcasting terms that will be determined by the committee will not exceed five years.

A Nation report said that the committee will grant a five-year term to Channels 5 and 11 but will give only a three-year term to Thai PBS. However, channels 5 and 11 are expected to apply for digital public TV licenses after their analog licenses expire.
