After the temperature drastically dropped in Bangkok and upper Thailand yesterday, a woman was found dead from the cold in the northeastern province of Nakhon Phanom.
Following the 9 degree Celsius temperature in Issan, Buala Kamhen, 93, was found dead by her grandson yesterday after she was left alone at home while he went to work.
The grandson Nopporn said his grandmother had always been healthy until the last two days when she constantly complained of being cold. She was staying indoors and wrapped up in a blanket when he left for work.
But when he returned, he found she had passed away. Officials identified cold weather as the cause of death, INN News reported.
Meanwhile, in the north of Thailand, temperatures fell to 6-15 degrees Celsius. Chiang Mai is currently experiencing 11 degree weather with some showers.
The temperature in Bangkok, however, rose from 16 to 18 degrees today and the city is mostly sunny.
