Nakhon Chai Air driver killed after bus crashed into tree

A bus driver died and many passengers were injured when a Khon Kaen-bound bus crashed yesterday in Nakhon Ratchasima province.

Pirom Luang-Ei, 59, died after he police said he likely fell asleep behind the wheel of the Nakhon Chai Air bus he was driving, which then slid off the road and struck a tree.

Nakhon Chai has a reputation for safety as its buses typically include two drivers.

The bus had left Mo Chit Bus Terminal fully loaded with passengers and was on its way to Khon Kaen, Khaosod reported.
