MWA to end minimum monthly water fee

Even if you don’t use a drop of the stuff, residents of greater metropolitan Bangkok have long paid a minimum bill of THB45 each month.

Following public complaints, the Metropolitan Waterworks Authority will end the practice starting April 1, according to its ombudsman.

Residential consumers will thereafter pay only the THB8.5 per unit price based on their actual usage, The Nation reported.
