Music streaming service Spotify coming to Thailand this month

Spotify fans rejoice, the world’s foremost music streaming service is set to launch in Thailand.

Khaosod English reported that the Swedish company announced the launch and will have an event in Bangkok on Aug. 22 to celebrate.

For those that haven’t used the service, which is extremely popular in Europe and North America, it allows users to stream entire albums, create playlists, listen to all kinds of pre-created playlists, connect with friends, explore new music, and more. The service is free for the basic version, which features some ads. If you upgrade to Spotify premium you can listen offline and on your phone, ad-free.

Though it’s always been possible to use Spotify with a VPN in Bangkok, now that won’t be necessary.

No word on how much premium subscriptions will cost in Bangkok yet.

We will add more details as they become available.
