“Jampa” the sheep who was cruelly beaten by a drunk man and died later in her farm received a proper funeral yesterday.
A monk was invited to the Laksi Sheep Farm in Nakhon Phanom province to properly send Jampa to heaven after she was beaten by Noopetch Mokla, 35, who snuck onto the farm while drunk Wednesday night.
Jampa was put in a coffin with her name written on it before she was buried beneath the grass she once chewed peacefully upon.
Pitchaya Pocharatsadorn, the transgender woman who owns the farm, said Jampa sustained blows to her head until her brain became swollen, killing the ewe. She considered Jampa as one of her own children.
The assailant Noopetch had to pay THB15,000 compensation. Pitchaya dropped the charges, Khaosod reported.
