MRT turnstile malfunction meant hellish commute this morning for some

There were lines kilometers long this morning as an MRT-wide turnstile malfunction  meant that riders had to queue up to buy paper tickets.

The MRT’s automatic turnstile system malfunctioned, leaving lines of wannabe riders snaking through the city’s underground stations at 6:30 this morning,

When commuters tried to scan their cards or drop their coins they found that the turnstile gates would not open and were then told to line up to get the paper vouchers instead, reported Bangkok Post.

The turnstile system was repaired by 7:40am.
