For four days during the APEC summit in Bangkok this week, one popular MRT station will be off-limits to commuters.

The Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand has announced that, to ensure safety and tighten security during the summit, the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center MRT station will be shut from Wednesday through Saturday.

The closure is effective from Wednesday morning until 6pm on Saturday.

Other MRT stations will operate normally.

The summit will be held mainly at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center from Wednesday through Saturday. The capital city is expected to see heavy traffic this week due to road closures for the summit (see a map of the affected roads here).
