Mr. Mollusc uses palette of seashells to explore tsunami impact at Midnice Gallery

Famed seashell collector Jom Patamakanthin will share his love for molluscs at “Shells,” an art exhibition to run at Midnice Gallery.

Born in Chiang Mai but raised in Phuket, Jom Patamakanthin is known for his seashell museums on Silom Road and Phuket and twice winning the Fan Pan Tae contest.

Learning art from the sea life and his father, Jom will use the color pallette of seashells to relate the lives of local fishermen and changes in nature as a result of the 2004 tsunami.

The opening reception starts at 4:30pm on Oct. 18.
