Motor Expo wraps up with declined car sales, attendance drop

Motor Expo 2016 wrapped up yesterday with a drop in both car sales and the number of attendees, while Toyota was crowned the most popular label for another year.

The annual Motor Expo ended with a total of 32,422 bookings for car sales, which represents a 17 percent drop from last year. Meanwhile, motorcycles saw a 27 percent increase, with the number of sales bookings increasing to 7,942.

The most popular car labels based on the number of bookings were: Toyota (5,124), Honda (4,902), Isuzu (3,620), Mazda (3,434) and Ford (2,441).

Most likely due to the new mourning dress code for pretties, the number of visitors dropped 19.3 percent from last year with just 1.19 million people visiting the show between Dec. 1 – Dec. 11.
