After a month of hoping for the return of his previous master in the rain and scorching sun, an abandoned dog named Heng, or “Lucky,” from Bangkok, has been adopted by a new, loving owner.

The story of Heng, whose owner moved away from his Sathorn home without bringing the dog, was shared by Facebook user Panna Lomjan over the weekend.

“This dog is named Heng. His owner sold their house but did not take the dog with them. Heng would not go anywhere. He would sit and guard the house through the sun and rain. It has been going on around a month. He would glance at the cars passing by, hoping it was his owner coming back for him,” posted Panna Lomjan.

Thanks to the power of social media, the post gained nearly 20,000 shares and resulted in Heng finding a new home.

Soraya Bunnag, a well-known socialite and owner of the Tawana Hotel, has offered to adopt Heng and welcome him into her family, reported Sanook.

After a month of sleeping in the rain, Heng can now sleep on his own personal mattress. Panna posted updated pictures of Heng as she took care of the dog before handing it over to the new owner.
