Monkeys terrorize villagers in southern Thailand

These are not the monkeys terrorizing villagers

A troop of unruly monkeys have been wreaking havoc in Tha Chang village in southern Thailand.

The monkeys reportedly belong to a coconut farmer who trained them to pick coconuts from trees in the area. But last month, the troop decided there was more to life than collecting coconuts and they escaped from their cage.

“I keep four ducks. The monkeys stole all of the ducks’ food. They eat everything,” Surapong Inkabchan said. “When they ran out of food, they entered my kitchen, searched for rice, and threw the rice cookers around. I have to keep dishes and food in cupboards these days.”

The monkeys have terrorized seven families in the village and locals have asked police to coordinate with the Department of Forestry to locate and capture the monkeys, Khaosod.
