If you think your family dinners are full of drama – take a look at this.
This lavish dinner is part of an annual monkey festival in Lopburi, central Thailand.
As part of the festival, the monkeys are served about two tons of fruit, vegetables and jellies worth about US$11,000.
All day long, the monkeys jump from table to table to battle for the best bits of food – as the tourists and locals watch in awe.
Yongyuth Kitwattananusorn, Monkey Festival organizer, said: “The highlight of the food this year is durians and cherries.
“I paid THB1,900 per kilogram for it. It just came from Chile. The monkeys are lucky to eat cherries from Chile.”
Yosawadee Namnat, spectator, said: “I think this is good. The event brings a lot of tourists here. It’s good for the economy.”
The festival started in 1989 as a way to boost tourism.
The food fight now attracts thousands of people every year.
