Police are planning to charge the ex-boyfriend of a promotional model with confinement, after he allegedly kidnapped her ailing father overnight in a bid for her to get back to him.
Pailin Yokklin, a 23-year-old model in Kanchanaburi province, filed a police report against her 33-year-old ex, identified as Sukhum Manaim, after he allegedly abducted her disabled father on Friday — before then returning him Saturday night.
Pailin’s 67-year-old father Komin, while not hurt, cannot walk under his own power and was obviously exhausted when Sukhum’s mother drove him home. Meanwhile, no one knows to where Sukhum has fled, Amarin TV reported.
Pailin said she thinks her ex likely returned her father thanks to public pressure generated by a viral Facebook post she made about the case on Saturday afternoon.
In her post, she alleged that prior to last week’s kidnapping, Sukhum had kidnapped her father twice in the past three weeks when the pair had an argument.

She said that Sukhum often picked fights with her and refused to let her work her job as a restaurant hostess. He also threatened to disfigure her face so she could never model again, a threat that prompted her to leave the relationship.

Sukhum’s father, Jamrad, however, told police yesterday that his son did not kidnap the model’s ailing father but only “took him out,” nevertheless, Col. Thanee Sa-nguanjeen of the Sai Yok police, said that he has questioned the model’s father and that Sukhum will be summoned to face charges of confinement.
If he fails to report to the police, an arrest warrant will be issued, Khaosod reported.
