A large plot of land right next to the Mo Chit BTS station is being proposed for a new development project that would serve as retail and office space, apartments, and hotels.
The Treasury Department, which owns the 26-acre parcel, is aiming to build “Mo Chit Complex,” a mixed-use skyscraper, Deputy Director-General Amornrat Klamplob told Thai PBS today.
The ambitious design mockup shows a large swimming pool on the building’s rooftop. Could Mo Chit Complex become Bangkok’s Marina Bay Sands? Possibly.

Amornrat said the proposal is being finalized and will be submitted to the cabinet within two weeks. If approved, the THB26 billion (US$80 million) project will be developed by property company Bangkok Terminal.
Currently, a portion of the land is being used as a free parking lot. As Mo Chit is the terminal station for the BTS Sukhumvit Line, many suburbans park their vehicles there to catch the skytrain to the inner part of the city.
Property magazine Think of Living reports that the construction of the Mo Chit Complex is scheduled to begin next year and will be finished during 2023.
