A troubled Swiss man reported missing was found by Koh Samui farmers, swimming and laughing in a canal on top of Lamai Hill on Friday.

Rescue Volunteers found “Peter,” a 52-year-old foreigner, talking and laughing to himself while relaxing in the water. It took a while for them to talk the expat into boarding their truck back to the rescue center.

His Thai and foreign friends met him at the center, noting that Peter had mental problems and had been skipping his medication for over two months.

The details on his mental problems were not revealed, T News reported.

It was reported that Peter rode his motorbike partway up the hill to his friend’s beer bar mid-week, where he left his phone and helmet. He then drove further up the hill and never returned.

One day later, his friends asked authorities to find him.

At the center, officials and Peter’s friends tried to talk him into going to Koh Samui Hospital to receive treatment, but the man wouldn’t comply. Therefore, officials strapped him down on a gurney and took him to the hospital.
